NUR 705 - Transitioning to a DNP Leadership Role in a Complex Healthcare System

Prerequisites: Admission to the DNP Program. This Course explores role of the DNP in executive and educational leadership in a dynamic healthcare environment. Students explore contemporary leadership and systems theories in the context of their own leadership styles. Students become familiar with the influences of culture, inter-professional relationships, health systems and structures as they interact with specific health issues and leadership challenges. Students will assess a healthcare organizational system and develop strategies for continuous quality improvement. This course includes 60 hours of clinical practice experience activities.
