NUR 709 - Health Policy for Nursing and Other Healthcare Providers[3 credit(s)] Prerequisites: Admission to the DNP Program. This course prepares students to analyze institutional, local, state, regional, and national policies, processes, and procedures for their impact on individual and population health. The roles and responsibilities of members of the health care team are explored with a focus on collaboration and delegation as means to achieve cost-effective quality care. The course includes an analysis of previous, existing, and pending U.S. health policy as it impacts access, safety, quality, and efficacy of health delivery. Emphasis is placed on the advocacy role in policy evolution.
