NUR 822 - Theoretical Foundations for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Across the Lifespan

Prerequisites: NUR 701, NUR 702, NUR 703, NUR 704, NUR 706, NUR 707, NUR 708, NUR 709, NUR 711, NUR 712, NUR 713, NUR 715, NUR 716. This course introduces a selection of conceptual models and theories related to the practice of psychotherapy. Students examine models of personality development and individual functioning and acquire an understanding of the development of psychopathology. Students will learn to select appropriate therapeutic strategies. Students apply selected theories to case study material and evaluate the utility of theory-based research findings to specific client populations.
