NUR 824 - PMHNP Focus I Clinical: Care of the Adult Individual Client

Prerequisites: NUR 701, NUR 702, NUR 703, NUR 704, NUR 706, NUR 707, NUR 708, NUR 709, NUR 710, NUR 711, NUR 712, NUR 713, NUR 715, NUR 800, NUR 820, NUR 821, NUR 822. Co-Requisites: NUR 823. The clinical practicum portion of the course requires the student to function with minimal supervision while working towards autonomous practice as a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner. The student will apply knowledge and abilities in psychotherapy, psychopharmacology and ability to provide direct advanced nursing care to adult individuals with psychiatric/mental health needs. HOUR REQUIREMENTS: 180 hours over an average of 12-15 weeks. NOTE: Students must be successful in companion course NUR 823 to receive a passing grade in this course (NUR 824).
