OTH 706 - Medical Conditions and Occupational Performance[3 credit(s)] Prerequisite: Admission to the Occupational Therapy Program. This course discusses the etiology, incidence and prevalence, signs and symptoms, types, associated disorders, course and prognosis, diagnosis, and management of a sample of some of major medical conditions. Students analyze the effects of disease processes to the physical and mental health and occupational performance of the individual, group, or population. The client-centered nature of occupational therapy is emphasized. The phenomenological perspective of occupational performance is explored.
