OTH 717 - Occupational Therapy Theory and Process

Prerequisite: Admission to the Occupational Therapy Program. This course is designed to teach at the understanding, application, analysis, and evaluation levels of learning. This course explains the process of theory development and reviews current occupational therapy theories and models of practice. Students apply, analyze and evaluate the scientific evidence, theories, and models of practice that underlie the practice of occupational therapy and the occupational therapy process and which are used to guide and inform intervention for persons, groups, and populations in a variety of settings. Evaluation, intervention planning, intervention, transition services, discontinuation of services, activity analysis, and documentation in occupational therapy are addressed.
