OTH 728 - Psychosocial Functions and Interaction Skills: Evaluation and Intervention

Prerequisite: Admission to the Occupational Therapy Program. This course is designed to teach at the application, analysis, and evaluation levels of learning. Course content focuses on the psychosocial functions and interaction skills of persons across the lifespan. Students understand, apply, analyze, and evaluate the scientific evidence, theories, and frames of reference used by occupational therapists to guide and inform evaluations and occupation-based interventions of psychosocial functions and interaction skills. Includes group process and application, analysis and evaluation of the role of sociocultural, socioeconomic diversity factors and lifestyle choices in contemporary society to meet the needs of persons, groups, and populations. The course lays the foundation for use of this information in a more integrated way in later courses. Lab Fee.
