OTH 735 - Occupation and Participation: Children and Youth[4 credit(s)] Prerequisite: Admission to the Occupational Therapy Program. This course provides a working knowledge, application, analysis, and evaluation of the concepts and principles of the occupational therapy process in practice with children/youth and families in diverse settings (schools, clinics, hospitals, community, home), using simulated and actual case materials. Emphasis is on promoting participation in occupations in the areas of education/school, social participation, ADLs, IADLs, play, leisure, sleep/rest, and work to promote health and quality of life of persons, groups, and populations using the best evidence to support practice.
