OTH 750 - Service Learning in Occupational Therapy

Prerequisite: Admission to the Occupational Therapy Program or permission of instructor. Students provide occupation-centered services in a non-traditional setting for individuals at-risk of occupational deprivation, limited participation in health-promoting occupations, or challenges in occupational performance. Emphasis is on addressing the psychological and social aspects of mental health specific to the needs of the clients and setting, planning and providing occupation-centered services, and reflecting on therapeutic use of self and impact of services on participation and health. The course may be repeated. Lab Fee.
