OTH 751 - Level I Experience

Prerequisite: Admission to the Occupational Therapy Program. This level I experience allows the student to exhibit pre-entry level skills and clinical reasoning in various practice settings necessary to evaluate sensorimotor, cognitive, and psychosocial factors influencing occupational performance of persons, groups, and/or populations in the areas of activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, rest/sleep, education, work, play, leisure, and social participation utilizing standardized and non-standardized screening and assessment tools. They will work with the team and the person, family, groups, and/or populations to develop and implement intervention strategies that promote occupational functioning and understand and articulate occupational therapy’s unique role within the assigned setting. This course provides an opportunity to gain experiential knowledge of and apply the theoretical approaches studied in the curriculum. Documentation is emphasized. Lab Fee.
