HIS 319 - History of U.S. Tourism[3 credit(s)] Pre-req: Gen Ed Eng/Comp. This course considers the role of tourism and placemaking in American society and culture from the early nineteenth to the early twenty-first century. It emphasizes visionary leaders; the business of tourism; architecture, landscape, and design; cultural representation and performance; and the cultural, social political, and environmental impacts of tourism.
