EDM 413 - Language Arts in Middle School[3 credit(s)] Prerequisite(s): EDL 301, EDM 351, EDM 352. Corequisite(s): EDM 441. Minimum GPA of 2.75. Must be admitted into the Middle Childhood Education program. Critical exploration and analysis of student-centered methods that encourage integrated study of the language arts. Areas of study include pragmatic and theoretical aspects of reading, writing, listening, and oral language development during early adolescence - especially as they apply to the selection of objectives, strategies, and materials for instruction and the evaluation of pupil progress.
