BIO 442 - Immunohematology I[2 credit(s)] Prerequisites: Admission into the Cleveland Clinic School of Medical Laboratory Sciences clinical training program. Corequisites: All Session I courses must be taken concurrently. Lectures cover the common blood group systems, ABO discrepancies, and serologic procedures performed prior to blood transfusion. Laboratory work will give the student hands-on experience with instrumentation and manual methods to assist with the understanding of troubleshooting, quality control and result interpretation.
