COM 349 - Designing Health Messages[3 credit(s)] Students will gain knowledge and skills to critically evaluate health messages, and to design messages intended to promote health and prevent illness and disease. Topics examined include health behavior change theories and message design frameworks, audience analysis, and message evaluation strategies. Students will learn transferable communication skills for use in different contexts such as interpersonal health communication interventions (e. g., provider/patient), workplace wellness programs, health communication campaigns, and scholarly health communication research, among others.
