SOC 201 - Race, Class and Gender

This course focuses on race, class, and gender as systems of inequality in the United States. The course addresses the question, “How do systems of race, class, and gender affect societies and individuals?” In answering this question, the course explores key theories, concepts, and findings related to the sociological study of race, class, and gender in education and the workplace. The course also addresses potential ways to reduce social inequality.
