SOC 254 - Introduction to Social Statistics

[3 credit(s)]
This course introduces preliminary statistical methods applied in social sciences. While obtaining conceptual understanding of the materials, students will learn how to apply various measures and methods to solve problems in the real world, and how to use statistical software to analyze secondary data. The course includes introduction to research design and sampling, probability and probability distributions, constructing confidence intervals, testing statistical hypotheses, liner regression and correlation.
