MTX 394 - Music Therapy Practicum IV[2 credit(s)] Prerequisites: Music therapy major. Successful completion of MUS/MTX 290 or MTX 190, 291, 391, 392, and 393. Any exceptions must be petitioned to the instructor prior to the start of the semester. Co-requisites: MTX 395. Students must also register for one fieldwork section of MTX 394 in conjunction with section 1 of MTX 394 (the lecture section). Sections will be assigned based on site placement. Involves a field experience in an assigned community agency. Each practicum includes an assessment of the group or individual, the development, and implementation of ongoing treatment procedures, and evaluation. Field experience assignments made by the Music Therapy Clinical Manager, in conjunction with the Music Therapy Program Director. This course must be successfully completed with at least a B- (80% average) to count toward the music therapy undergraduate degree (or its post-bac equivalent).
