BIO 531 - Basic Computational Methods in Biological and Environmental Sciences[3 credit(s)] Prerequisites: Admission into the Biology or Environmental Science MS program or permission of instructor. This course introduces students to basic computational methods and applications in biological and environmental sciences using R, the open-source statistical programming language that is commonly used for a wide variety of statistical analyses and data visualizations. Basic R programming concepts will be explored and applied in the context of big data in biology and environmental sciences. Students will learn to work with publicly available/published datasets in biological and environmental sciences.
