COH 798 - Mentored Exploration of Health & Technology Research

Prerequisite: Admission to the COH PhD Transdisciplinary Health, Science & Technology program or permission of the instructor. This course is an individually mentored exploration of health and technology research areas. It is recommended that students enroll in this course during the first year of the program to help develop their dissertation research ideas. The course will help students enrolled in the PhD in Transdisciplinary Health, Science and Technology program identify necessary and available resources toward identification of a potential dissertation topic. This course is designed to facilitate collaborative work between the student and faculty advisor in order to establish specific objectives, timeline, products, and work in order to prepare for a dissertation research project. The student, with the guidance of the faculty advisor, will develop an individual learning contract defining the scope and specific objectives and outcomes for this course. The scope and objectives must include familiarization with and consideration of adherence to ethical guidelines for human or animal subjects as appropriate to the individual student’s area of exploration.
