ESE 400 - Intro to Special Education

(4 credits)

Prerequisites or Corequisites: EDB 200, EDB 301 and EDB 302. An introduction to the profession of special education with information regarding the characteristics of persons with the various disabilities included in IDEA. Students learn historical and legal issues regarding special education; to identify, plan, and implement a variety of instructional strategies; and information on the concepts of Praxis II and to the profession. Required for Middle Childhood and Adolescent Young Adult Licensures. This course may fulfill a General Education Requirement.
