EVS 450 - Applied Ecology(3 credits) Prerequisite(s): BIO 300 or BIO 302 or BIO 304 or permission of instructor. Our lives have been increasingly touched by questions pertaining to environmental degradation at local, regional, and global scales. Students will examine ways in which ecological principles can be applied to solving some of these crucial environmental problems. Topics include global climate change, sustainability, agroforestry, biodiversity and conservation, invasive species, ecotoxicology, biomonitoring and bioremediation, and restoration ecology.
