ART 353 - Islamic Art

A survey of Islamic art from the period of the early caliphates (c. 700) to the heights of the Islamic empires (c. 1700), combined with close examinations of the issue of aniconism in the Islamic artistic tradition and of relationships between the Islamic and western traditions. . This course may fulfill a General Education Requirement.
