EDM 313 - Language Arts in Middle School

(4 credits)
Prerequisite(s): EDB 303, EDB 304, ESE 404 and EDL 301, and concurrent enrollment in EST 371; must have a GPA of 2.50 or higher and be a declared college major or minor to be eligible for this course. Concurrent enrollment in EST 371 . Critical exploration and analysis of student-centered methods that encourage integrated study of the language arts. Areas of study include pragmatic and theoretical aspects of reading, writing, listening, and oral language development during early adolescence - especially as they apply to the selection of objectives, strategies, and materials for instruction and the evaluation of pupil progres. This course may fulfill a General Education Requirement.
