ESE 400 - Intro to Special Education

(4 credits)
Prerequisite(s): EDB 200, EDB 301, and EDB 302 (as prerequisites or corequisites); must have a GPA of 2.50 or higher and declared college major or minor to be eligible for this course. Prerequisites or Corequisites: EDB 200 , EDB 301  and EDB 302 . An introduction to the profession of special education with information regarding the characteristics of persons with the various disabilities included in IDEA. Students learn historical and legal issues regarding special education; to identify, plan, and implement a variety of instructional strategies; and information on the concepts of Praxis II and to the profession. Required for Middle Childhood and Adolescent Young Adult Licensures. This course may fulfill a General Education Requirement.
