MUS 411 - Music History I(3 credits) Prerequisite(s): MUS 113, MUS 234 and MUS 244 or permission of instructor This course will present the development of Western Music from around 700 (the Middle Ages) to the mid-eighteenth century (the Age of Enlightenment). Understanding the major trends in Western music as well as its function in society, and examination of the parallels with other fine arts is a further goal. This course may fulfill a General Education Requirement.
