Description

The Sport and Entertainment Management degree provides students with fundamental knowledge and skills in the management and marketing of organizations in the sport and entertainment industry. Graduates are prepared for careers with amateur, collegiate, and professional sports organizations along with other entertainment entities.

WHAT CAREERS CAN THIS MAJOR PREPARE YOU FOR?

The Sport and Entertainment program will prepare students for a business career in amateur, collegiate, and professional sports as well as other entertainment organizations. Careers within the Sport and Entertainment Industry are expected to grow 22% by 2030 according to the Bureau of Labor & Statistics.

Major-Field Requirements


Graduation requirements: Minimum of a grade of C or higher in all SPM major-related courses (business core, sport and entertainment management core, and SPM concentration). SPM major courses (business core, sport and entertainment management core, and SPM concentration) in which a grade lower than a “C” was earned must be repeated.

Major Electives


Choose 6 credit hours from one area

Sport and Entertainment Management Major Concentration: Interdisciplinary Knowledge (12 credit hours)


Concentration Options: Student must select 12 credits / 4 courses including one WAC course among the 4. Advised to use these courses to support sport and entertainment management studies with interdisciplinary knowledge from current academic programs or previous academic studies.
