Digital Content Production Certificate

This certificate in digital content production will prepare students from all majors with knowledge and skills required to become effective and engaging communicators in the digital spaces. Students will learn to produce engaging and interactive websites and videos and use analytical skills to evaluate impact. The students will learn to apply these digital skills in a variety of fields such as promotional communication, corporate communication, political communication, public affairs, advocacy in non-profits, and journalism. Students in journalism and promotional sequences are permitted to double count a few courses, if they choose to take this certificate, as some of the courses in the new certificate are currently part of the current JPC Major. Students must complete four courses amounting to 12 credits for the Certificate in Digital Content Production.

Prerequisites


Prerequisites to enroll in the certificate program are COM 225 - Media Writing  or any WAC course across the university with B- or better grade and COM 102 - Adobe CC: Digital Content Creation in Communication .

Required Courses


This certificate program includes 12 credit hours of courses. Students must choose one of the following two courses: COM 335  or COM 372 . In addition, they must take these required core courses: COM 425 COM 429 , and COM 430 .
