Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: College of Sciences and Health Professions

The Speech and Hearing minor, which is especially valuable for students majoring in education, special education, linguistics, or the health-care professions, provides the student with a foundation in the study of the developmental and normative aspects of speech, language, and hearing. Students must earn 18 credits in SPH coursework.

Note(s):

Students must discuss with their adviser whether it is appropriate to enroll in SPH 229 - Speech & Language Development  or SPH 349 - Speech&Language Develop/Majors  for majors. SPH 349  is advantageous for students who expect to enroll in a graduate program in speech-language pathology and pursue professional practice.
