HIS 352 - Political History of 19th-Century Europe(4 credits) A survey of the political and diplomatic problems of post-Napoleonic Europe; the revolutions of 1848; Napoleon III and the Second Empire; problems of national unification in Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungary; the Third French Republic; Russia’s attempt to modernize; the Turkish Empire and Balkan nationalism; the coming of World War I..
