MUS 262 - Non-Western Popular Music

The course will use post colonial popular music to examine the effect of independence, urbanization, and technology as well as political, social, religious, and gender issues in Africa, Latin America, The Middle East, and India in the later half of the twentieth century. This course may fulfill a General Education Requirement.
