PHY 450 - Optics and Electromagnetic Waves

(4 credits)
Prerequisite(s): PHY 330 . Maxwell equations; electromagnetic energy; electromagnetic waves; interaction of light with dielectric and metallic materials: dispersion; geometric optics; lenses and lens aberrations, mirrors, polarization, birefringence, interference, interferometer design, Frauenhoffer and Fresnel diffraction.
