ANT 354 - Cultures of Oceania

Introduction to the extremely diverse cultural areas of Polynesia, Micronesia, Melanesia, and Australia. Topics include trade and exchange; gender relations and sexuality; culture contact and change; indigenous land rights; totemism; political authority, language distribution and use; warfare and headhunting; expressive arts, and socialization. A&S Foreign Culture course. Non-Western Culture and Civilization.
