ANT 312 - Primate Behavior[3 credit(s)] Focus on the marked diversity and adaptive significance of primate behavior in nature. Dietary patterns and feeding strategies, locomotor adaptations, reproductive behaviors, territoriality, social organization, predator pressure, interspecific competition, parental investment, play behavior and learning, and primate intelligence are explored within the framework of evolutionary ecology, zoology, and geographic distribution. The extent to which primate behavior studies shed light on the evolution of human behavior is also examined.
