ACT 455 - Internal Controls and Risk Management

Prerequisite: ACT 221. All organizations are exposed to risks that may prevent them from achieving their objectives. This course provides students with approaches to assess risk exposures and then discusses how to manage those risk exposures through the implementation of effective internal controls. Organizational governance issues will be examined. The course also devotes significant time to understanding the profession of internal auditing and the role internal auditing plays in matters dealing with organizational risk management, controls, and governance.
