CMG 331 - Means and Methods in Concrete and Masonry Construction[3 credit(s)] Prerequisites: CMG 220. The course introduces students to the management and construction of reinforced concrete elements used in the built environment. Structural elements include foundations, elevated slabs, columns, and beams using reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry elements. The student will be exposed to the application of the ACI 318 Building Code to design, inspect, and construct reinforced concrete members and formwork systems. The building code for reinforced masonry, TMS 402, is used. The student is exposed to certain provisions of the Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures, ASCE 7. Includes the interpretation and preparation of shop drawings.
