Introduction

The Monte Ahuja College of Business prepares its graduates for professional careers in business, government, and nonprofit organizations.

The BBA degree within the Monte Ahuja College of Business requires students to explore the world of business in society, to develop managerial, technical, ethical, and critical thinking skills, and to understand the roles and responsibilities of individuals as citizens, managers, and professionals. This is accomplished through a carefully designed curriculum of “lower-division” business requirements and general education courses in the humanities, natural science, mathematics, and the social sciences.

The upper-division program of study in business permits students to acquire a broad foundation of knowledge and skills in the functional areas of business, including accounting, finance, international business, marketing, organizational behavior, human resources management, information systems, and supply chain management. Within a business major, the student acquires specialized knowledge and skills. Emphasis is placed upon individual initiative, teamwork, integrative and critical thinking, ethical analysis, and strategic decision-making skills. Students are provided fundamental tools as well as knowledge about advances in management practice and thought to assist them in meeting the management and leadership responsibilities in their business, civic, and personal lives.
