Program of Study for Early Childhood Licensure
A qualified applicant who possesses a baccalaureate degree may seek a provisional teaching license in early childhood education (PK-3), at the graduate level. Eligibility for this license requires 1) completion of all graduate licensure coursework, 2) a portfolio meeting specific criteria at course checkpoints (ECE 500 , ECE 502 , EST 570 , EST 580 ) and demonstrating proficiency in the twelve college outcomes (see Student Portfolio Handbook at http://csunew.csuohio.edu/cehs/students/portfolios/), and 3) successful completion of all Praxis II examinations required by the State of Ohio.
The licensure program also includes university and field-based experiences that focus on the healthy development and education of children from ages three to eight, including typically developing children and those with mild and moderate disabilities. Licensure Courses

Students with similar coursework from CSU or other institutions may be exempt from one or more courses. See your advisor. Note(s)
Students who complete the early childhood education licensure at the graduate level only need four additional courses (EDB 601 , ETE 501 , ECE 695 , and one social foundations course) to complete the master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Early Childhood Education.
