Description

Public Safety Management majors prepare to be effective leaders in public safety organizations. They learn about policy development, response strategies for emergency situations, and community safety needs.

What careers can this major prepare you for?

Graduates work in law enforcement, fire service, probation and parole, emergency management, and emergency preparedness at the local, state, and federal levels. You may go on to hold positions including: Bailiff, Chief of Police, Corrections Officer, Court Clerk, Emergency Management Coordinator, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Fire Chief, Fire Fighter, Investigator, Law Clerk, Police Officer, Paralegal, Public Safety Director.

In addition to completing the major requirements listed below, students must complete all College of Urban Affairs requirements, including completion of UST 200 , UST 404 , UST 405 , and UST 490 .
