Electrical Engineering, Accelerated Master’s BEE/MSEE

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering also offers an accelerated program that would enable students to a earn a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree as well as a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Admission to Program


Students are eligible to apply after they have completed sixty credit hours in their undergraduate program, with at least 30 credit hours earned at CSU.

Program Requirements


Once admitted to the combined program, the student may complete up to 9 credit hours of graduate courses while enrolled in the undergraduate program. These 9 credit hours count towards both the undergraduate and graduate degree requirements, either as electives or as requirements. The student must enroll in the graduate program within one year after the completion of the undergraduate degree. Course Requirements

All bachelor’s degree requirements must be met. 9 credit hours of 500-level EEC courses must be taken (in addition to, or as approved substitutions for undergraduate elective requirements) in year 4 while completing the bachelor’s degree.

Additional 500-level and/or 600-level courses, as required, will be taken as a graduate student to complete the graduate degree requirements. 

The 9 credit hours of 500-level coursework completed during undergraduate studies will be applied to both the bachelor’s degree and the master’s degree. For more details, please refer to the department webpage: https://www.csuohio.edu/engineering/ece/5-year-bsms-accelerated-program

GPA Requirement

Students must maintain a 3.00 or higher GPA to remain in the program

Honors Students

500-level courses that are already counted as honors credits can be counted to satisfy the requirement of 9 credit hours of graduate courses in this program.
