EDM 413 - Language Arts in Middle School[3 credit(s)] Prerequisites: EDM 341, EDM 342, EDM 351, EDM 352, and EDL 301; must have a GPA of 2.8 or higher and be a declared college major. Corequisite: EDM 441. Critical exploration and analysis of student-centered methods that encourage integrated study of the language arts. Areas of study include pragmatic and theoretical aspects of reading, writing, listening, and oral language development during early adolescence - especially as they apply to the selection of objectives, strategies, and materials for instruction and the evaluation of pupil progress.
