ESE 415 - Assessing Young Children[3 credit(s)] Prerequisites: Students seeking the Early Childhood Education License must complete ECE 300 and ECE 403 as prerequisites, and must be officially admitted into the Early Childhood program, to be eligible for this course; must have a GPA of 2.50 or higher. Provides a basic understanding of the components of developmental screening, child assessment, child identification, and program evaluation for children “at-risk” and those with disabilities from birth through age 8. Assessment and evaluation focus on child and family variables. Construction of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) are stressed.
