MET 201 - Statics for Engineering Technology[3 credit(s)] Prerequisites: MTH 149 or MTT 169 or MTH 181, and PHY 221 or PHY 241. Pre or corequisite: ESC 120. Introductory level statics. Analysis of static equilibrium of trusses and frames including forces in members and joints. Section and mass properties, friction, centroids, moment of inertia, radius of gyration and virtual work. Laboratory work will consist of experiments that reinforce the theory (lectures).
