MTH 496H - Honors Project[3 credit(s)] Prerequisites: Gen Ed Eng/Comp. MTH 396 (grade of C or better) and at least two other mathematics courses numbered 300 or above, or departmental approval. Prerequisite or corequisite: At least one other mathematics course numbered 400 or above, or departmental approval. Student must be in the Honors College or have approval of the Mathematics Department Honors Liaison. Working individually with a faculty supervisor, the student will incorporate concepts from challenging literature. The student will write a final paper that demonstrates mastery of the material and contains a significant mathematical or statistical result or application. In addition, the student will give an oral presentation of their work at a regional mathematical conference or a similar venue.
