SOC 319 - Sociology of Religion[3 credit(s)] Prerequisite: Gen Ed Eng/Comp. Must have at least sophomore standing to be eligible for this course. The course will present and compare/contrast major sociological theories of religion, examine historical and contemporary patterns of religious belief and participation, and the relationships between religion and other institutions including politics. The empirical focus will include both the contemporary United States and a comparative look at other societies.
