The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering also offers an accelerated program that would enable students to earn a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree as well as a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 5 years.

Admission to Program

Students are eligible to apply after they have completed sixty credit hours in their undergraduate program, with at least 30 credit hours earned at CSU. For more details, please refer to the department webpage http://www.csuohio.edu/engineering/civil/acceleratedms.html.

Program Requirements

Once admitted to the accelerated 4+1 program, the student may complete up to 12 credit hours of graduate courses while enrolled in the undergraduate program. These 12 credit hours will count towards both the undergraduate and the graduate degrees, either as electives or requirements, depending on the course. Upon receipt of their bachelor’s degree, students who have a 3.0 or better in their graduate courses will automatically be admitted to the Graduate Program, and have up to 12 hours of graduate coursework (and grades) added to their graduate transcripts provided a grade of B or higher is earned in the course.
